Five on Friday

TGIF, Friends! It's been a hot one in New Jersey and daily trips to the pool, popsicles, and our window AC units have been helping us survive the heat.

This weekend is Charlotte's baptism. We've been putting it off for a variety of reasons including moving, finding a new church and her godparents being in the same state at the same time. This weekend is it and we are looking forward to celebrating our sweet little girl and hoping she doesn't make too big a scene...

Speaking of which, we're having a little lunch post-baptism and I'm making this chicken salad, which I made for my bridesmaids on the day of my bridal luncheon, (9 years ago!) back before Pinterest. I found the recipe saved in my bookmarks and had to try it again.

We are a cloth-napkin-only family (with the exception of parties, we exclusively use cloth napkins for all meals) and as such we've accumulated quite the hodgepodge of napkins over the years. Every time Nick and I go out to dinner, he comments on the restaurant's napkins and how we should get some like those.  This week, I found this pack of 12 for $12 on Amazon Prime and ordered them right away. Looking forward to having a lot of the same ones for once!

And speaking of food, I have to say that my new favorite magazine is Cooking Light Magazine. For years, I've meal planned by looking up recipes on Pinterest and other go-to websites. It's so nice to have a magazine that delivers quick, healthy, seasonal recipes- no researching involved. This week, I've already made 3 recipes from this month's issue and they've all been great.

We got both kids bikes this week and Nick stayed up late on Monday night assembling them so they would be ready for the kids in the morning. We've been outside practicing our biking skills daily. Hayden has big dreams of riding on a walking trail that we go to often, so we're working on riding up and down the driveway in preparation!

Have a great weekend!
