Charlotte: one month

Hard to believe that Little Miss is already a month old- time is flying! This angel baby has been such a joy the last month and she fits into our family like she always belonged. So far, Charlotte has been an amazing sleeper. She started out the month sleeping in 3 and 4 hour stretches and now sleeps 6 - 9 hours at night before waking up for her one (!!) nightly feeding. Having been around the baby block once before, I'm not holding my breath that this will last, but we are sure enjoying the easier-than-usual newborn nights. She has also been sleeping in her bassinet, in her own room since she was 2 weeks.
Charlotte is a pretty easy-going babe; she really only cries for 2 reasons. One - being in the car. This girl passionately HATES the car and if she's not really asleep when we put her in, we can expect a full car ride of screaming, regardless of the number of stoplight-awkard-body-contortions to reinsert the pacifier. The other is if her tummy is upset. She is a bit more sensitive than Hayden and spits up a ton. Like sometimes an entire feeding (or so it seems). She usually needs to be held upright and walked around after each feeding. Other than that, she is very chill and loves to be held and cuddled.
She is still a tiny little thing, not quite filling out her newborn clothes or diapers. I have a feeling it will be a while before we can break out the cloth diapers with this child. She is now measuring at 8.1 lbs and 19 inches.
Hayden has been adjusting well to having a little sister and is quick to alert us when she's awake, when her eyes are open or shut, and when she needs her paci. He has been nothing but sweet to her, even though it's been challenging for him to share Mommy and Daddy's attention. Sometimes I put her down next to him on a blanket while I'm changing his diaper or clothes and she loves to stare at his face and watch him play. Bath time with these two is pretty fun as well. We started out the month with bathing each kid separately but found that Charlotte is calmer and more interested in the bath when Hayden is in the tub too. We use this $5 bath sponge and fill up the bath with just a few inches of water and lay her down. Hayden sits at the other end of the tub and is careful not to splash water on Sister while she's in there. Once she's out, he gets to have more water in the tub and sit on "Sister's yellow boat."
The sweet girl has brought so much joy to our lives and we love her to pieces!
